What Are Trump Accounts?
Trump Accounts are government-sponsored investment accounts designed to help eligible children build savings for the future. Created to encourage long-term financial security and investing from an early age, eligible children may receive a $1,000 contribution from the U.S. government, and family members may be able to make additional contributions over time. The funds are invested and have the potential to grow until the child reaches adulthood.
Key Things to Know
The account is owned by the child and managed by a parent or guardian until age 18.
Eligible children may receive a $1,000 initial government contribution.
Additional contributions may be allowed, subject to program limits.
Funds are invested and may be available for future use, subject to program rules.
Investment returns are not guaranteed, and account values can rise or fall over time.
