California Coast Credit Union takes great pride in improving lives in our community through support and participation in a myriad of causes, with a focus on youth, education and the health of people and animals.
Partnerships with Local Organizations
We greatly value and continue to expand our partnerships with local organizations that share our "people helping people" philosophy. Some of our partners are: San Diego Humane Society, Rady Children’s Hospital, Vietnamese American Youth Alliance, Home Start and many others.
Providing Financial Literacy to Local Classrooms.
Cal Coast Credit Union was founded by educators, so it is important that we bring financial wellness into local classrooms, college campuses, and organizations that serve youth and young adults. We host activities such as FinSense® – a powerful interactive app designed to bring financial literacy lessons to students using digital content. We also have Bite of Reality – a program where students are given real world scenarios – they must budget, spend, and save.
We are proud to be trailblazers in the financial education movement as we equip students with the knowledge to be successful with their finances. Cal Coast was featured on LOCAList San Diego hosted by Fox 5 San Diego. Through this segment, you’ll see how the credit union encourages local students to think about financial wellness.

California Coast Credit Union is committed to uplifting the communities that we serve.
In addition to our long-standing support of local schools, colleges, and universities, we partner with nonprofits, community organizations and local businesses to help uplift individuals and families across San Diego and Riverside Counties.
This year, Cal Coast has partnered with the City of San Diego, community stakeholders and others to participate in events and causes in the city’s Promise Zone, to support individuals, families, schools, nonprofits, and others as part of our mission to empower underserved populations and enhance financial inclusion. Our staff volunteered at neighborhood gardens, encouraged reading among young students, assisted with health screenings for at-risk teens, helped furry friends find forever homes, and so much more.
We are pleased to share that we celebrated the opening of a new Cal Coast Financial Wellness Center at the Logan Heights Community Development Corporation which will provide no-cost financial education and coaching to individuals and families in the area.

Cal Coast Cares Team
Our dedicated team of volunteers is at the heart of everything we do to support the communities we serve. This dedicated group of employees and staff is called our Cal Coast Cares Team. Since 2015, we volunteered a total of more than 13,300 hours of personal time at nearly 700 events across San Diego and Riverside Counties. These events included charity 5K walks/runs, packaging food at local food banks, beach & park cleanup projects and so much more. We always invite and encourage our members and everyone in the community to join our Cal Coast Cares team at these events to support our mission of giving back.
Supporting Our Schools
Cal Coast strongly supports local schools, from K-12 to community colleges and local universities. Our free interactive Bite of Reality youth education program is a big hit with local students and teachers. In addition, we are proud to host free financial workshops throughout the year for college and university students and support causes and events on campuses such as San Diego State University, California State University, San Marcos, National University and virtually all of the local community colleges in the communities we serve.
