What is a Credit Union?
A credit union is a non-profit financial institution that’s owned by its members.  That means a credit union exists only to do what’s right for you, the member/owner—not earn a profit.  Why do you care?  Lots of reasons.  It means:

  • Lower loan rates
  • Higher savings rates
  • Lower or even no fees for many services
  • Friendly staff and personal service
  • You get to vote to elect the Board of Directors
  • You help your fellow credit union members realize their dreams, too.  How?  Because a credit union is a cooperative financial institution—your savings deposits become another member’s auto loan.
  • And much more

Plus, your money’s safe with a credit union—your savings are federally insured by the United States government to at least $250,000 through the National Credit Union Administration.
